The Palencia Mountain, a hospitable region rich in natural spaces, once again hosted the Ecotourism Fair NATURCYL 2020. The last weekend of September, beg (Palencia) became the center of Ecotourism and Nature in all of Spain. The third edition of NATURCYL It was held from September 25 to 27 in the Montaña Palentina Natural Park.
After a few convulsed months due to the pandemic, NATURCYL was able to celebrate its third edition with enthusiasm and very satisfied to have contributed to promote the ecotourism sector. An essential sector for sustainable rural development, now more than ever.
The fair was the ideal setting for commercial and business exchange between the sectors and professionals linked to nature tourism. The contracting market that was held on Friday the 25th with European and Spanish tour operators was a great opportunity for the companies that participated to expand.
But NATURCYL It was also designed so that any type of public would have the opportunity to spend a weekend with a multitude of outdoor activities in a privileged natural space.
Sixty exhibitors from nine autonomous communities, which represented 220 brands, met. Exhibitors who continue to trust this fair and who, in a year as difficult as 2020, did not want to stop participating. There they were showing the latest in optical material to observe nature, the most amazing tourist destinations, and the environmental conservation programs of different NGOs and foundations. The activities program included talks attended by 450 people; 20 workshops, 2 round tables, several excursions around the fair four exhibitions and three concerts attended by 300 people. we can't forget the III Nature Photography Contest in which almost two hundred photographers participated with several hundred photographs of the highest quality.

NATURCYL 2020 had as godfather to the prestigious naturalist, journalist and philosopher Joaquin Araujo, who delighted us with his words at the conference "Rush or life" on Saturday morning.
As protagonist destination in this edition we had the Caceres province, a place with infinite natural and ecotourism resources. And they have given different workshops and talks about their natural and tourist resources.
Saturday was dedicated to the transhumance of sheep as a tourist and rural development resource. More than a thousand nomadic sheep visited the fair.
This year 2020, so difficult for everyone, NATURCYL launched a very strict anti-covid protocol that all attendees complied with responsibly. And despite this difficult year, exhibitors increased compared to previous editions, with a participation of sixty, thus increasing the exhibition space by 15%.
The collaborating entities, the exhibitors and the visiting public gave the organization a boost and a trustworthy recognition for the success achieved in the third edition.
The fair, with strict sanitary security measures, was visited by 5,500 people. The data of each visitor was taken to monitor a possible virus outbreak, an event that did not occur three weeks after the end of the event. It is safe to say that it was a great success.
Castile and Leon, regional host of NATURCYL, showed its wealth of ecotourism resources, which makes it one of the most important autonomous communities for inland tourism in all of Europe.
Palencia, in a magnificent stand showed its enormous diversity and wealth of art, history, nature and rural world that makes it one of the most attractive provinces in Spain.
The rest of the tourism, photography, new technologies, gastronomy, artisans and foundations exhibitors have managed to make the fair considered one of the most important in its sector in Spain.
We cannot forget the touch of the nature sounds concerts by the prestigious Carlos de Hita and the two classical music concerts that we were able to enjoy with the string quartet, Quartet16 performing works inspired by nature.
