THE 5TH EDITION OF NATURCYL WAS PRESENTED AT THE ROYAL BOTANICAL GARDEN IN MADRID

The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Sports of the Junta de Castilla y León, the Provincial Council of Palencia and the City Council of Cervera de Pisuerga presented on July 12, 2022 the V International Ecotourism Fair, NATURCYL, which will be held from July 23 to September 25 in the Palencia town of Ruesga (Cervera de Pisuerga). The objective of this fair is to value the natural heritage of Castilla y León and the national and international destinations that will exhibit during that weekend, which has made it a benchmark in the ecotourism sector at a national level.

In this presentation organized in the Botanical Garden of Madrid, the general director of tourism of the Junta de Castilla y León Ángel González Pieras, the deputy of tourism of the Provincial Council of Palencia Carolina Valbuena Bermúdez, the mayor of Cervera de Pisuerga, Jorge Ibáñez Díaz, the director of Naturcyl Carlos Sánchez Alonso, and the godmother of honor of Naturcyl 2022, Sol de la Quadra-Salcedo.

Fairs such as Naturcyl are a clear example of one of the objectives of the Junta de Castilla y León and the Diputación de Palencia, to convert the intense tourism development that Castilla y León is experiencing into a factor of economic reactivation of rural areas and the natural spaces of the community, promoting the tourist use of natural resources under criteria of sustainability and respect for our natural heritage. 

The presentation of the fair has been addressed to travel agents, specialized press and professionals in the sector, with the aim of publicizing all the news and activities of Naturcyl, for a correct promotion of the event at a national and international level.

The wide range of existing nature tourism in Castilla y León and in other national territories will be promoted, as well as the importance of this professional event from the point of view of the specialization strategy around nature tourism. A tourist use of natural resources that become a fundamental key to the economic development of the territory. 

Extensive program of activities

The 5th edition of Naturcyl will feature a complete program of activities, open to all audiences, such as the 5th Nature and Ecotourism Photography Contest, which this year is sponsored by Bresser Iberia and Posadas Reales de Castilla y León. 

In addition, the common thread of this year's fair will be the celebration of the 500th anniversary of the first Magellan-ElCano circumnavigation of the world.

The outstanding national destination of this edition will be the province of Teruel, with the promotion of its numerous resources and natural spaces. As in past editions, during the fair you can visit interesting exhibitions and the II Nature Photography Conference will take place, with conferences and practical workshops given by renowned photographers.

Conferences, thematic workshops, guided tours, tastings and tastings... make up a very complete program of activities for all audiences. The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Sports is planning a familiarization trip with tour operators, specialized in nature tourism, with the aim that they know in situ the tourist resources and national companies related to nature tourism. In addition, on September 23 there will be a professional meeting, where travel agents will be in contact with professionals from the ecotourism sector who attend.
