NATURCYL, the Castilla y León Ecotourism Fair, will offer Internet connection via satellite to its more than ninety exhibitors from different autonomous communities and even Portugal, thanks to an agreement with the multinational communications eurona, with whom he shares the commitment to improve opportunities in rural areas.
In line with NATURCYL's main objective of promoting ecotourism and new technologies To make life easier and more sustainable in the rural world, Eurona, with its satellite technology, works to connect these less populated territories and guarantee people's right to be connected wherever they are.
Above all, taking into account that 7% of the population, more than 3.2 million inhabitants, suffers from a poor Internet connection whose speed does not reach 10 Mbps. A problem that continues to affect areas such as Castilla y León, where 2.4% of the population -more than 58 thousand people- can barely access a speed of 2 Mbps, mainly in rural areas, according to Eurona data from the 2018 Broadband Coverage Report.
And it is that the Internet has become a basic necessity, hence Eurona positions itself as an ally against depopulation that is committed to turning the rural world into a dynamic environment and generator of wealth, with special interest in improving the quality of life of vulnerable groups such as young people and women.
