PRESS CONFERENCE TO PRESENT THE SECOND EDITION OF NATURCYL

On July 31, 2019, the Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Junta de Castilla y León, Xavier Ortega, accompanied by the president of the Provincial Council of Palencia, Angeles Armisen and the director of NATURCYL Carlos Sanchez, has presented the II edition of the Ecotourism Fair of Castilla y León, NATURCYL, to be held between the days September 27 and 29 in the Palencia town of pray, within the Natural Park of Fuentes Carrionas and Fuente Cobre, in the Palentina Mountain.

The director has defined as a fundamental priority for the Board to turn the tourism growth of Castile and Leon in economic activity and employment opportunities in rural areas as fundamental keys for establishing the population in the towns.

To this end, it has announced the preparation of a program of rural development tourism measures to take advantage of tourism development as a factor for economic reactivation of rural areas.

through the Castilla y León Tourism Promotion Strategy, highlights the ecotourism and rural development initiatives that are being carried out in the Community and that are helping to consolidate Castilla y León as the main inland tourist destination. In this sense, the NATURCYL fair was born last year, with the aim of becoming a meeting point for nature lovers in the northern half of the Peninsula, with a benchmark tourist offer that is recognized nationally and internationally for its quality. , sustainability, accessibility and differentiation.

For her part, the president of the Provincial Council of Palencia, Angeles Armisen, has valued the continuity that the celebration of this second edition of the NATURCYL Ecotourism Fair, as well as maintaining its location in Ruesga, a town belonging to the municipality of Cervera de Pisuerga which is also one of the most attractive enclaves of the Fuentes Carrionas y Fuente Cobre-Montaña Palentina Natural Park.

Secondly Carlos Sanchez, director of NATURCYL, explained what the extensive program of activities scheduled for that weekend will consist of and trusts that some ten thousand people will participate in the fair, including those who visit the exhibitors and attend the technical conferences, photography conferences, roundtables, guided routes, children's workshops, photo contest, demonstrations, tastings and workshops included in the extensive program of activities that are already being worked on for the II NATURCYL.

The president of the Provincial Council of Palencia finally encouraged professionals and companies in the sector to attend this important event, which will bring together numerous firms specializing in nature tourism, the best optical brands for observing or photographing the natural environment, non-profit organizations government and conservation foundations, as well as artisanal food producers from different areas of the Iberian Peninsula, who will have a specific space.
